Rodau (Wümme)

The Rodau is a 22.9 km long left tributary of the Wiedau in Lower Saxony. The river rises in the Visselhöveder district Hiddingen in the district of Rotenburg ( Wümme) at the foot of a 50 meters deep to the northwest abdachenden Endmoränenrückens from the Drenthestadium the Saale glaciation, the wooded and natural Rosebruch flows in the Samtgemeinde Bothel and ends in Rotenburg in the Wiedau before they in turn flows into the Wümme just 1.3 kilometers. In Bothel the Vissel Bach in the Rodau, which rises in Visselhoevede in one of the most powerful sources of Lower Saxony lowlands and at the mouth about 25 % more water than the leading Rodau, thus actually the Hauptquellast the Rodau opens. The Rodau has throughout the water quality class II ( moderately polluted ). One of its tributaries, the pigs Kobe Bach is, however, heavily weighted at its upper reaches - water quality class III.

The Rodau is a popular fishing and canoeing territory.
