Roddy McDowall

Roddy McDowall ( born September 17, 1928 in London, United Kingdom, † October 3, 1998 in Studio City in Los Angeles, United States; actually Roderick Andrew Anthony Jew McDowall ) was a British, but grew up in the U.S. and children living performer and actor.

Life and work

McDowall made ​​his debut as a child in the movie Murder in the Family. In 1943 he played in homesickness besides Elizabeth Taylor, with whom he was friends until after his death. Particularly well known he was the Planet of the Apes movies; later he also appeared in the television series Planet of the Apes.

Especially in the 1960s and 1970s, McDowall starred in some Disney movies, he played the title role in the comedy Western Bullwhip Griffin or gold rush in California. He was also in demand as a voice actor for games and animation films, including as the voice of Robotors " VINCENT. " in the black hole and A Bug's Life, one of his last works. He also completed over the years, guest-starred in numerous television shows.

In 1974, McDowall was accused of illegally distribute film prints. The FBI raided his home and confiscated his extensive film collection of 16- mm wheels and videotapes, which he had created as a movie fan and collector.
