Roger Borniche
Roger Borniche ( born June 7, 1919 in Vineuil -Saint Firmin, Dept. Oise ) is a French writer.
Life
Roger Borniche who wanted to be a chanson singer originally, did not work during the German occupation of France in the Resistance, but volunteered for the police, where he was arrested as an inspector of the Sûreté Nationale 567 searched felon. Borniche understood it sent to reclaim their successes and worked well with the media together. Nevertheless, he is considered to be a policeman, who came to great successes with unusual methods and was awarded the Médaille d' Honneur de la Police and the Médaille de Courage the act à titre exceptionnel. This seems his career but not necessarily be conducive been, apparently called Neider on the plan, and finally came to an end under unclear circumstances.
After retiring from the police service in 1956 Roger Borniche received a state license as a private investigator and opened an agency that specialized in the investigation of insurance fraud and still exists today in Paris.
Since the early 1970s, he has published numerous detective novels, mostly reproductions cases from his own professional practice. However, he raised not to deliver the claim, documentation or factual matters, but called his works rather than detective stories and made in his prefaces corresponding legal reservations about people and names. However, there were violent reactions former colleagues and supervisor, the Borniche vanity and boasting accused. He claim the manhunt Any team improperly exclusively for themselves.
Because of the success of his books, withdrew in 1975 from its previous activity Roger Borniche and handed over the management of the agency to his son Christian. His books have been translated into numerous languages , some of them filmed. Borniche moved to the U.S. and only devoted himself nor his literary activities. In 2003 he lived with his wife in West Hollywood, CA.
Works
The books are in German translation, thematize in a realistic and ironic and distanced language, in Black market, collaboration ( French Militia ) and Resistance in occupied Germany France, the situation in France in the IV.Republik ( 1946-1958 ) with war profiteers, corruption, housing shortage, gang violence and a police force that is weakened by political purges and intrigue. Hero is the ambitious young inspector Borniche, which except with gangsters with the bureaucracy, the rivalries between the various police forces and his career -obsessed boss even with the adversities of everyday life ( long working hours, hours and days of often unsuccessful observations in bad weather, poor housing conditions, low salary, preparations has to grapple checks). He abhors the often brutal methods of his colleagues, never carries a weapon and relies more on his intuition, his informants and existing in the archives of the police knowledge of the underworld. By these means he succeeded in spectacular arrests.
