Roland Königshofer

Roland Königshofer ( born October 24, 1962 in Neunkirchen, Lower Austria ) is an Austrian former road bicycle racer.

Cycling career

Roland Königshofer, nicknamed " Woodpecker ", is one of the most successful cyclist in Austria. His bicycle racing career began in 1976; He won 29 Austrian Champion title in different disciplines. In the years 1987 to 1990 he was European Cup overall winner of the posts and in the years 1989 to 1991 world champion in this discipline.

Private

Roland Königshofer spent his childhood in St. Pölten. He is divorced; his ex-wife Monika was in the 1980s, the Austrian National goalkeeper youth handball national team. Son Luke 's goalie Bundesliga Rapid Wien.
