Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Harare

The Archdiocese of Harare (Latin: Archidioecesis Hararensis ) is a location in Zimbabwe Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Harare. It includes the districts Mazowe, Bindura, Shamva, Murewa, Rushinga ( south of the river Mazowe ), Mudzi, Mutoko, Kadoma, Chegutu, Harare, Goromonzi, Seke, Marondera, charter and Buhera Wedze.

History

Pope Leo XIII. founded the mission sui juris Zambezi River on July 2, 1879 from annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Natal. On March 9, 1915, she was elevated to the Apostolic Prefecture. On 14 July 1927, she took the name Salisbury Apostolic Prefecture.

Using the Breve Compertum habemus it was raised on March 3, 1931 the Vicariate Apostolic. With the Bull Quod Christ was raised on 1 January 1955 in the rank of Metropolitanerzbistums. On June 25, 1982, adopted the current name.
