Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Suva

The Archdiocese of Suva (Latin: Archidioecesis Suvanus ) is a location in Fiji Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Suva.

History

The Archdiocese of Suva was born on March 27, 1863 by Pope Pius IX. cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate of Central Oceania established as Apostolic Prefecture of Fiji. On 10 May 1887, the Apostolic Prefecture of Fiji was by Pope Leo XIII. elevated to the Apostolic Vicariate. The Apostolic Vicariate of Fiji was posted on June 21, 1966 by Pope Paul VI. with the Apostolic Constitution Prophetarum voces raised to an archbishopric and renamed the Archdiocese of Suva.
