History

The diocese Banmaw was August 28, 2006 by Pope Benedict XVI. built with the Apostolic Constitution Venerabiles Fratres of cessions of territory of the diocese of Myitkyina and the Archdiocese of Mandalay is a suffragan. First bishop was Raymond Sumlut Gam.
