Roman Catholic Diocese of Cienfuegos

The Diocese of Cienfuegos (Latin: Dioecesis Centumfocencis ) is a community on Cuba Roman Catholic diocese based in Cienfuegos.

History

The Diocese of Cienfuegos was founded on February 20, 1903 by Pope Leo XIII. with the Apostolic Constitution Actum praeclare built out of territory of the Diocese of San Cristobal de la Habana and the Archbishopric of Santiago de Cuba, is a suffragan. On June 30, 1971, the diocese was renamed the Diocese of Cienfuegos Cienfuegos - Santa Clara. The Diocese of Cienfuegos Santa Clara was divided on 1 April 1995 in the dioceses of Cienfuegos and Santa Clara. On 5 December 1998, the Diocese of Cienfuegos was the Archdiocese of Camagüey is a suffragan.
