Roman Catholic Diocese of Matanzas
The Diocese of Matanzas (Latin: Dioecesis Matansansis ) is a community on Cuba Roman Catholic diocese based in Matanzas.
History
The Diocese of Matanzas was established on December 10, 1912 by Pope Pius X with the apostolic constitution Quae catholicae religioni out of territory of the Diocese of San Cristobal de la Habana and the Archbishopric of Santiago de Cuba, is a suffragan. On January 6, 1925, the Diocese of Matanzas was the Archdiocese of San Cristobal de la Habana is a suffragan. The famous Varadero resort area belongs to the set up 1938 Santa Elvira Church to the Diocese of Matanzas.
