Roman Catholic Diocese of Coari

The diocese Coari (Latin: Dioecesis Coaritanus ) is a location in Brazil the Roman Catholic Diocese based in Coari in the state of Amazonas.

History

The Territorialprälatur Coari (Latin: Territorialis Praelatura Coaritanus ) was born on July 13, 1963 by Pope Paul VI. built with the Apostolic Constitution ad Christ of cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Manaus and this assumed as suffragan.

On October 9, 2013, Pope Francis, the Territorialprälatur to the diocese. The former prelate Marek Marian Piątek CSsR became the first diocesan bishop.
