Roman Catholic Diocese of Hallam

The Diocese of Hallam (Latin: Dioecesis Hallamensis ) is a facility located in the United Kingdom, Roman Catholic diocese based in Sheffield.

History

The Diocese of Hallam was established on 30 May 1980, Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Dei Qui arcano of annexations of the dioceses of Leeds and Nottingham and the Archdiocese of Liverpool is a suffragan. Since the Church of England in 1917 created a bishopric Sheffield, another name was chosen for the Catholic establishment according to the Ecclesiastical Titles Act of 1851.
