Roman Catholic Diocese of Iringa
The Diocese of Iringa (Latin: Dioecesis Iringaënsis ) is a location in Tanzania Roman Catholic diocese based in Iringa.
History
The Diocese of Iringa was born on March 3, 1922 by Pope Pius XI. built with the apostolic constitution Quae rei from annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Dar es Salaam as the Apostolic Prefecture of Iringa. January 28, 1935, the Apostolic Prefecture of Iringa gave parts of their territory establishing the Apostolic Prefecture of Dodoma. The Apostolic Prefecture of Iringa was born on January 8, 1948 by Pope Pius XII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Digna sane Apostolic Vicariate.
On March 25, 1953, the Vicariate Apostolic of Iringa was Pius XII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Quemadmodum ad Nos to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Dar es Salaam is a suffragan. The Diocese of Iringa, on 16 February 1968 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Njombe. On November 18, 1987, the Diocese of Iringa was the Archdiocese of Songea is a suffragan.
