Roman Catholic Diocese of Dodoma

The Diocese of Dodoma (Latin: Dioecesis Dodomaensis ) is a location in Tanzania Roman Catholic diocese based in Dodoma.

History

The Diocese of Dodoma was posted on January 28, 1935 by Pope Pius XI. built with the Apostolic Constitution Romani Pontificis of annexations of the Apostolic Vicariate of Bagamoyo and Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as the Apostolic Prefecture of Iringa as Apostolic Prefecture of Dodoma. On April 14, 1943, the Apostolic Prefecture of Dodoma gave parts of their territory establishing the Apostolic Prefecture of Mbulu. The Apostolic Prefecture of Dodoma was on May 10, 1951 Pope Pius XII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution In Tanganyikensi Apostolic Vicariate.

On March 25, 1953, the Vicariate Apostolic of Dodoma was Pius XII. applicable to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Dar es Salaam is a suffragan. The Diocese of Dodoma was on March 25, 1972 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Singida. A further transfer of territory took place on March 12, 2011 establishing the bishopric Kondoa.
