Roman Catholic Diocese of Isiro–Niangara

The Diocese of Isiro - Niangara (Latin: Dioecesis Isirensis - Niangaraensis ) is a location in the Democratic Republic of the Congo Roman Catholic diocese based in Isiro.

History

The Diocese of Isiro - Niangara was built on December 18, 1911 by Pope Pius X made ​​territorial concessions to the Apostolic Prefecture Uele as Apostolic Prefecture of Eastern Uele. On May 6, 1924, the Apostolic Prefecture of Eastern Uele was by Pope Pius XI. elevated to the Apostolic Vicariate. The Apostolic Vicariate of Eastern Uele was posted on December 14, 1926 by Pius XI. renamed with the Apostolic Constitution Cum ex Apostolic Vicariate Apostolic in Niangara. On February 24, 1958, the Apostolic Vicariate Niangara were from parts of its territory establishing the Apostolic Prefecture Doruma.

The Apostolic Vicariate of Niangara was posted on November 10, 1959 by Pope John XXIII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Cum parvulum to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Kisangani is a suffragan. On March 23, 1970, the diocese was renamed the Diocese Niangara Isiro - Niangara.
