Roman Catholic Diocese of Itabuna

The diocese Itabuna (Latin: Dioecesis Itabunensis ) is a location in Brazil Roman Catholic diocese based in Itabuna in the state of Bahia.

History

The Diocese of Diamantina was established on 7 November 1978 by Pope John Paul II made ​​cessions of territory of the Diocese of Ilheus and the Archdiocese of São Salvador da Bahia is a suffragan. The diocese Itabuna was 1966 parts of its territory from the foundation of the diocese Eunápolis.
