Roman Catholic Diocese of Makeni

The Diocese of Makeni (Latin: Dioecesis Makenensis ) is a location in Sierra Leone Roman Catholic diocese based in Makeni.

History

The Diocese of Makeni was posted on April 3, 1952 by Pope Pius XII. built with the Apostolic Constitution Christiani populi from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Freetown and Bo as Apostolic Prefecture of Makeni. The Apostolic Prefecture of Makeni was born on February 24, 1962 by Pope John XXIII. raised to the bishopric. On November 11, 1970, the Diocese of Makeni was the Archdiocese of Freetown and Bo is a suffragan.
