Roman Catholic Diocese of Óbidos

The Diocese of Óbidos (Latin: Dioecesis Obidensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Óbidos in the Brazilian state of Pará.

The diocese was established in 1957 as Territorialprälatur from the former suffragan of the Archdiocese Territorialprälatur Santarém as Belém do Pará out. It is located in the Amazon over the equator and is ten times as large as the bishopric of Münster, which supports the establishment of the diocese. On November 9, 2011, Territorialprälatur was raised to the rank of a bishopric.
