Roman Catholic Diocese of Périgueux

The Diocese of Périgueux (Latin: Dioecesis Petrocoricensis ) is a located in France Roman Catholic diocese based in Périgueux.

History

The Diocese of Périgueux was built in the 3rd century and the Archdiocese of Bordeaux is a suffragan. On July 11, 1317 the Diocese of Périgueux were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of Sarlat. The Diocese of Périgueux was disbanded on 29 November 1801 and the area was incorporated into the diocese of Angoulême. The Diocese of Périgueux was built on October 6, 1822 by Pope Pius VII, with the Apostolic Constitution Paternae charitatis again.
