Roman Catholic Diocese of Tagum

The Diocese of Tagum (Latin: Dioecesis Tagamna ) is a community on the Philippines island of Mindanao in the south of the Roman Catholic diocese based in Tagum City. It includes the provinces of Davao del Norte ( with the exception of the city of Garden City of Samal Iceland ) and Compostela Valley.

History

Pope John XXIII. founded the Tagum Territorialprälatur on January 13, 1962 from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Davao.

With the Apostolic Constitution Qui in Beati Petri on October 11, 1980, was raised to the bishopric, which was the Archdiocese of Davao assumed as suffragan. On February 16, 1984, lost part of its territory in favor of the establishment of the Diocese of Mati.
