Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Davao
The Archdiocese of Davao (Latin: Archidioecesis Davaensis ) is a location in the Philippines Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Davao City.
History
The Archdiocese of Davao was posted on December 17, 1949 by Pope Pius XII. with the Apostolic Constitution Satius dubie haud out of territory of the Diocese of Zamboanga built as Territorialprälatur Davao and the Archdiocese of Cebu as a suffragan assumed. On June 29, 1951, the Territorialprälatur Davao became the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro assumed as suffragan. The Territorialprälatur Davao was born on July 11, 1966 by Pope Paul VI. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Catholicas res magna to the diocese.
The Diocese of Davao was on 29 June 1970 by Paul VI. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Sanctae Ecclesiae utilitatibus to an archbishopric. On November 5, 1979, the Archdiocese of Davao were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of Digos.
The Archdiocese of Davao includes the located in the province of Davao del Norte Davao City and Garden City of Samal Iceland.
