Roman Catholic Diocese of Texcoco

The Diocese of Texcoco (Latin: Dioecesis Texcocensis, Spanish: diócesis de Texcoco ) is a location in Mexico Roman Catholic diocese based in Texcoco. Its territory includes the municipios Atenco, Chiautla, Chicoloapan, Chiconcuac, Chimalhuacán, Papalotla, Tepetlaoxtoc, Texcoco and Tezoyuca.

History

The Diocese of Texcoco was on April 3, 1960 by Pope John XXIII. built with the Apostolic Constitution Caelestis civitas of cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Mexico City. On January 13, 1964, the Diocese of Texcoco were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Apostolic Constitution Aliam ex aliis erected diocese of Tlalnepantla. For more territorial concessions were made on 5 February 1979 founding of the built with the Apostolic Constitution Conferentia episcopalis Mexicana diocese Cuautitlán and establishing the built with the Apostolic Constitution Plane Nobis diocese Netzahualcóyotl. A further transfer of territory took place on 3 December 2008 on the establishment of the Diocese of Teotihuacan.
