Roman Catholic Diocese of Xinyang

The Diocese of Xinyang (Latin: Dioecesis Siniamensis ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Xinyang in the People's Republic of China.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded the Apostolic Prefecture Sinyangchow with the Breve ex hac divi on 15 December in 1927 of territory of the Apostolic Vicariate of Kaifeng. On 2 March 1933, lost part of its territory for the benefit of the establishment of the Apostolic Zhumadian Prefecture.

On April 25, 1933, she was elevated to the Apostolic Vicariate. With the Apostolic Constitution Quotidie Nos it was raised on April 11, 1946 Diocese. At least until 1993, the diocese has never had a bishop after the expulsion of the Divine Word Missionaries in 1950.
