Geography

Rossau is located about 3 km east of Mitt Weida and 15 km south of chub. Is the Zschopautal on the western boundary of the parish.

History

The present-day districts of the municipality Rossau included in earlier centuries to different dominations. The following table describes these power relations are presented.

After the dissolution of the offices the places came under the administration of the Court Office Mittweida, Greifendorf and Moosheim to the court office Roßwein. 1875 came to the court office Mittweida proper place in the territory of Rossau to the Amtshauptmannschaft Rochlitz and the places Greifendorf and Moosheim to the Amtshauptmannschaft chub.
