Rostkowice, Opole Voivodeship

Rosenberg (Polish: Rostkowice ) is a town in Upper Silesia. Rosenberg is located in the municipality Zülz ( Biała) in Prudnicki powiat (district Neustadt OS) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Geographical Location

Rosenberg is located six kilometers east of the parish seat Zülz, 14 kilometers northeast of the county town of Prudnik ( Neustadt OS) and 35 kilometers southwest of the voivodship Opole.

Neighboring towns of Rosenberg in the West Altzülz ( Solec ), in the northern village of Sims ( Gostomia ), to the east Wilkau ( Wilków ) and in the southwest Probnitz ( Browiniec Polski ).

History

The town was founded in the first half of the 15th century and was first mentioned in 1467 as " Rostkowicze ".

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 298 voters voted to remain in Germany and 34 for Poland. Rosenberg remained with the German Reich. By 1945, the place was in the county Neustadt OS

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Rostkowice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to powiat Prudnicki. On 6 March 2006 German was in the community Zülz who belongs Rosenberg, introduced as a second official language. On 24 November 2008, the City also received the official German place names Rosenberg.
