Rota d'Imagna

Rota d' Imagna is an Italian town with 946 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy.

Location and data

Rota d' Imagna is located about 26 km northwest of Bergamo in Imagna. The neighboring municipalities are Brumano, Corna Imagna, Locatello, Sant'Omobono Terme and Valsecca.

History

On the territory of the municipality tombs have been found from the Bronze Age. The finds are exhibited in the Museum of Bergamo. 1151 Rota d' Imagna was first mentioned in a document. In 1927, the municipalities of Rota and Rota Dentro Fuori united to form the new community Rota d' imagnes.
