The Route nationale 31, just N 31 or SN 31, is a French national road that leads from Rouen to Reims.

History

The N31 was established in 1824 between Gournay -en- Bray and Reims by going back to the route impériale 3 and 34. Her length was 183.5 km. In 1933 it was extended from Reims to N3 at Valmy. The length increased to 248.5 kilometers. This extension was graduated in 1973. In 1978, the N31 is a part of the N30 and a short piece of the N15:

  • N 30 Rouen - Saint- Aubin
  • N 15 Saint- Aubin - Gournay -en- Bray
  • N 31 Gournay -en- Bray - Reims

The N 31 is at its full path today part of the first variant of the Grand contournement de Paris. Between Beauvais and Clermont is expanded as a highway and thereby extends to the locations over crossed by the old route. In 1994, the southern bypass of Soissons was put into operation and the N 31 laid on this. The street was rezoned by the city for N2031 and downgraded 2006 municipal road. Since 2012, the N31 is led around also north of Compiègne.

N1031

The N1031 was a side branch of the N31, which branches off from this west of Compiegne and partially ran north to the city than highway. 2012, this bypass was completed up to the N31 east of Compiègne and umgenummert to N31.

N2031

The N2031 was the number two side branches of the N31, which were each the old town links through Soissons (1994 to 2006) and Compiègne (2012 ). They are both local roads today.
