Rudolf Gnägi

Rudolf Gnägi ( born August 3, 1917 in Schwadernau, Canton Bern, † April 20, 1985 in Spiegel bei Bern, hometown entitled Schwadernau ) was a Swiss politician (BGB / SVP). As he was Federal Transport and Minister of Defense and held two times, the Office of the President.

Political career

From 1952 to 1965, Gnägi Bernese cantonal government ( executive of the canton ) and from 1953 at the same time in the Swiss Bernese National Parliament.

He was elected to the Federal Council on 8 December 1965; his office, he took up on 1 January 1966. On 31 December 1979 he resigned.
