Rudolf Höber

Rudolf Hober (* December 27, 1873 in Stettin, † September 5, 1953 in Philadelphia ) was a German physiologist and professor.

Life

Rudolf Höber studied at the Albert -Ludwigs- University of Freiburg and the Friedrich- Wilhelms- University of Berlin, where he took his degree in 1898. At the Christian -Albrechts -University of Kiel, he worked since 1909 as a lecturer. In 1915 he was appointed Full Professor. At 29, he published his book Physical chemistry of cells and tissues. 1930/31 he was rector of the CAU.

On September 26, 1933, he was forced to retire because of his non- Aryan descent at 60. He emigrated with his wife Josephine over England in the United States, where he continued his scientific work in Philadelphia.

In Kiel, Rudolf- Höber Street reminded of him.
