Ruoqiang County

The circle Qakilik (若羌 县, Ruoqiang Xian) is a circle of the Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture Bayingolin in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. It is bordered to the west by the county Qiemo County and to the northwest by the district Lopnur (both also in Bayingolin ) in the north to the county Piqan the governmental district of Turpan and to the city of Hami in the same administrative region, on the west by the provinces of Gansu and Qinghai and southern Qinghai and the Tibet Autonomous Region. With 199,222 km ² is Qakilik of the lands in the largest county in China.

The circle has become world famous by the Lop Nor desert, the salt lake Lop Nor, the ruins of Loulan and Miran and the necropolis Xiaohe.

Administrative Divisions and Population

The population of the district at the end of 2004 was approximately 30,000 inhabitants ( population density. 0.15 inhab / km ²). The census in 2000 had resulted in 28 636 inhabitants. At the community level, Qakilik is composed of a field office location, three large municipalities, five municipalities and a Production and Construction Corps together. These are:

  • Greater community Ruoqiang (若羌 镇), the seat of county government, 6,376 inhabitants (2000);
  • Greater community Lopnur (罗布泊 镇), Start-up, no data for 2000;
  • Community Tikanlik (铁 干 里克 乡), 4,457 inhabitants (2000);
  • Community Utam (吾 塔 木 乡), 3,550 inhabitants (2000);
  • Community Waxxari (瓦 石峡 乡), 4,691 inhabitants (2000);
  • Office area office Qiman (祁 曼 区公所); Greater community Yetimbulak (依 吞 布拉克 镇), 654 inhabitants (2000);
  • Community Tomürlük (铁 木 里克 乡), 248 inhabitants (2000);
  • Community Qimantag (祁 曼塔克 乡), 67 inhabitants (2000);
