Ruprechtshofen is a market town with 2261 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Melk in Lower Austria.

Ruprechtshofen located in the Most district in Lower Austria. The area of the municipality covers 30.57 square kilometers. 7.4 percent of the area is forested.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Grabenegg, Ockert, Rainberg, Rieger, Ruprechtshofen and Zwerbach.
History
In ancient times, the area was part of the province of Noricum. In the core Austrian state of Lower Austria lying the place informed the eventful history of Austria.
Population Development
2008 Ruprechtshofen has 2283 inhabitants, according to the results of the 2001 census, there were 2219 inhabitants. In 1991, the market town of 2116 inhabitants, in 1981 there were 1975 inhabitants, in 1971 there were 1965 inhabitants.
Policy
The council has 21 seats, mayor of the municipality is Leopold Gruber Doberer, Office Manager Martin Leeb.
In the municipal elections of 2005, the ÖVP reached 16, the SPÖ and the FPÖ 3 2 mandates. In the municipal elections of 2010, the Freedom Party won one seat each of the ÖVP and SPÖ.
