The Saarland Merit is the highest award of the Saarland.
Award
The legal basis is the adoption of the Saarland state government about the foundation of the Saarland Order of Merit in 1974; the implementing regulations for the Order of Merit will be applied by analogy.
The Prime Minister gives the order as a " sign of recognition for outstanding services to the Saarland".
