Sabine Gasteiger

Sabine Gasteiger ( born October 28, 1956) is an Austrian disabled athlete in the area of ​​Alpine Skiing.

Life

The athlete has only a residual vision of five percent. At the Winter Paralympics in Turin in 2006, she won in every discipline in which they took a medal. Overall, it was a gold, two silver, and one bronze. Because of this power Gasteiger was honored as Austrian disabled athlete of the year. In the season 2005/2006 she also won the overall World Cup. In 2009, she was again recognized as disabled athlete of the year. At the 2010 Winter Paralympics in Vancouver, Canada Sabine Gasteiger took a gold medal in the slalom and giant slalom silver medal. It is thus by Claudia extinguishing the successful Austrian participant in the Games. Gasteiger belongs to the Upper Austrian Blind Sports Club at ( OÖBSC ).

In 2006 she received the Golden Medal for Services to the Republic of Austria.
