Sabra liqueur

Sabra ( סברה ) is a liqueur with chocolate and orange flavor. It is the most famous brand of spirits Israel.

History

The brand was developed by Edgar Miles Bronfman senior for the family-owned spirits company Seagram. His goal was to create a distinctive national spirit of Israel. The name comes from the originally thought the main ingredient, the prickly pear, and the meaning of the Hebrew word for this fruit, Sabra, as a synonym for born in Palestine and with it - the image accordingly - fixed in this country rooted Jews, also of adverse conditions not be swayed back. Since the prickly pear liqueur hardly caught on, the recipe was very soon replaced by the present, however, retained the name. The liqueur has been produced since the 1990s by the Carmel Winery and marketed since 2003 by this company.

The product

The liqueur has an alcohol content of 30%. The dominant flavor is the flavor of dark chocolate, complemented with the flavor of Jaffa orange and light citrus flavors. Besides the main product, there is also a Sabra Coffee Liqueur and a flavored with orange brandy under the name Grand Sabra.
