Saint-Martin-de-Valamas

Saint -Martin -de- Valamas is a commune with 1233 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in Ardèche, in the Rhône -Alpes. The place is also chief town of the same name Kantos Saint -Martin -de- Valamas. Saint -Martin -de- Valamas part of the community association Boutières.

Geography

Saint -Martin -de- Valamas located in the north of the department at the confluence of Eyrieux, Saliouse and Eysse. The municipality is part of the Regional Natural Park of Monts d' Ardèche ( Parc naturel régional des Monts d' Ardèche). Neighboring municipalities are Chanéac and Mariac. The nearest major town is in Aubenas 35 kilometers southeast.

Attractions

The municipal area are the ruins of the Château de Roche Bonne, a castle from the 16th century.
