Saint Michael's College

The Saint Michael 's College is a private, Catholic college in Colchester, Vermont, in the United States of America. It is run by a religious order, the Society of Saint Edmund.

The college was established in 1904 in some military barracks on the campus today. The first students were 34 boys and adolescents aged 10 to 22 years. Until the 1950s, the classes were small; with an education program for immigrants who wanted to learn English as a second language, 1954, a new branch of study, the School of International Studies, set up the recording of Hungarian refugees became the main branch of the school in 1956 and remained so until today.

During the first black man completed his secondary education in 1911 was the all-male student body to 1970; only female students were included (today's proportion of the student body is 42 %). The first female full-time teacher, however, was added in 1942.

1958 reached the basketball team of the College 2nd place in the NCCA League. The ice hockey team of the College in 1999, the last champion in the second hockey league in the NCAA. After the league was dissolved.
