Sainte -Marie- de - Chaux is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Sainte -Marie- de - Chaux is located at an altitude of 256 m above sea level, 6 km west-southwest of Luxeuil -les- Bains and about 22 km northeast of the town of Vesoul (air line). The village is located in the northern part of the department, in the plane of Luxeuil west of the Vosges Mountains, east of the Lanterne.

The area of ​​2.43 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the level of Luxeuil. From southeast to northwest, the area is drained by the Lanterne, which draws several turns. The alluvial plain is on average 255 m and is used mainly for agricultural purposes. To the northwest, the municipality's area covers with a narrow tip to the wooded slopes of the Mont Marot. History

Attractions

The village church of Sainte -Marie- de - Chaux was extensively rebuilt in the 19th century.
