Salón de la Plástica Mexicana

The Salón de la Plástica Mexicana (SPM ) is an art museum of Fine Arts and was opened by well-known artists in Mexico City on November 16, 1949. Today, the Salón de la Mexicana Plástica two seats, one in Calle de Colima in the Colonia Roma and one in the Donceles in the Centro Histórico, both in the Delegación Cuauhtémoc capital. The museum is an independent institution, but is administratively supported by the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes ( INBA ).

As the main founder Angelina Beloff is often called, the initial start-up idea comes obviously from the year 1947 by Fernando Gamboa and Carlos Chávez. Today, more than 200 artists member of the Salón de la Plástica Mexicana. The founding members were part Ignacio Aguirre, Luis Arenal, Celia Calderon, José Chávez Morado, Lola Cueto, Francisco Dosamantes, Jorge González Camarena, Frida Kahlo, Leopoldo Méndez, Gustavo Montoya Nefero, Pablo O'Higgins, Feliciano Peña, Jesús Reyes Ferreira, Antonio M. Ruíz, Cordelia Urueta, Alfredo Zalce, David Alfaro Siqueiros, Dr. Atl, Alberto Beltrán, Federico Cantú Garza, Erasto Cortés Juárez, Germán Cueto, Jesús Escobedo, Jesús Guerrero Galván, Agustín Lazo, Carlos Mérida, Francisco Mora, Luis Nishizawa, Carlos Orozco Romero, Fanny Rabel, Manuel Rodríguez Lozano, Juan Soriano, Héctor Xavier, Raul Anguiano, Abelardo Dávila, Ángel Bracho, Fernando Castro Pacheco, Olga Costa, Gonzalo de la Paz Pérez, Arturo García Bustos, Xavier Guerrero, Amador Lugo Guillermo Meza, Nicolás Moreno, Juan O'Gorman, Luis Ortiz Monasterio, Everado Ramírez, Diego Rivera, Rufino Tamayo and Desiderio Hernández Xochitiotzin.
