Salvador GarcÃa (athlete)
Salvador García ( Salvador García Melchor; born 1 November 1962) is a former Mexican marathon runner.
In 1988 he was second in the Houston Marathon in 2:11:50 h, and the following year he was Central America and Caribbean champion in the half marathon.
In 1990, he finished second at the New York City Marathon in 2:13:19, which he won a year later in 2:09:28.
In 1992, he won the Rotterdam Marathon in his personal best of 2:09:16. With a tenth place in New York in 1995 his international career came to an end.
