Sam Khok District
Amphoe Sam Khok ( Thai: อำเภอ สามโคก, pronounced [sa ː m k ʰ OK] - Three Hills), is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the northern part of the province of Pathum Thani in central Thailand.
Geography
Neighboring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Lat Bua Luang and the Bang Sai Ayutthaya province, as well as Amphoe Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani Mueang Lat Lum Kaeo and the province of Pathum Thani.
The county is drained by the Chao Phraya River.
History
Müang Sam Khok is an old city, it is mentioned in the chronicles for the first time in the reign of King Borommatrailokanat.
In 1660 reached a group of Mon refugees Siam, they had left their homeland under the leadership of Sming Poe, as they had been there, oppressed by the Burmans. King Narai pointed them to the area of Mueang Sam Khok, where they founded a city.
More Mon fled during the reign of King Taksin and King Rama II ( Phra Phutthaloetla ). They settled here in Sam Khok also to others in Amphoe Pak Kret ( Nonthaburi Province ) and in Amphoe Phra Pradaeng ( Samut Prakan Province).

Amphoe Sam Khok is divided into 11 communes ( tambon), which in turn in 58 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.
Bang Toei ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บางเตย ) is a small town ( thesaban tambon) and covers parts of the tambon Bang Toei.
There are also ten Tambon administrative organizations (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
