Sambizanga

Province

Sambizanga is one of nine municipalities, municipios, from which the Angolan capital of Luanda metropolitan region is composed. It belongs to Luanda ( province).

Sambizanga has about 244,000 residents and 14.5 square kilometers. It is bordered to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, on the north by the municipality of Cacuaco, in the eastern borders Cazenga and the communities Ingombota and Rangel. Sambizanga consists of the districts Operário and Ngola Kiluanje.

Sambizanga with his district Operário, was formerly and is still in use today, the working-class district of Luanda. The proximity to the port also attracted a lot of prostitutes in the district where as bars, pubs and harbor cheap hotels were found.
