Sami Ryhänen

Sami Ryhänen (born 23 May 1980, Helsinki ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who last stood until 2011 when SV Ritten in the Italian Serie A1 under contract.

Career

Sami Ryhänen began his career as a hockey player with HIFK Helsinki, for his youth, he was active from 1996 to 1999. Then he played another year in junior with the Espoo Blues, before the attacker got his first professional contract with Uusikaupunki Jää - Kotkat from the Mestis. During his first season at senior level, he joined the French Division 1 then played Ryhänen ever a season long in the Mestis for Haukat Järvenpää, and in the Ligue Magnus for Clermont- Auvergne HC.

Prior to the 2003/04 season the Finn received a contract in the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan where he stood on the ice the following year and a half for the Halmstad Hammers and Uppsala hockey before he finished the 2004/05 season at Stjernen from the Norwegian UPC ligaen. He then returned to his Finnish homeland, where the Center the following year for the HC Salamat Kirkkonummi from the Mestis and Lukko Rauma of the SM- liiga was on the ice. After he was only in the 2006/07 season with Jokerit Lappeenranta under contract, the links Sagittarius played in the 2007/08 season for Jokerit, the HC Innsbruck of the Austrian Hockey League and IF Björklöven from the HockeyAllsvenskan.

The 2008/09 season began with the Espoo Blues Ryhänen in the SM- liiga before moving immediately before the playoffs to their league rivals Tappara Tampere, where he was under contract until November 2009. After he was then without a club, he joined in February 2010 the Finnish second division LeKi at, for whom he played until season's end. The 2010/11 season he joined HDD Olimpija Ljubljana in the Austrian Hockey League and played in the rest of the season for Almtuna in the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan and the SV Ritten in the Italian Serie A1. Since then, he is without a club.
