Samir Ujkani ( born July 5, 1988 in Reznik, Vushtrri ) is an Albanian football player. He plays the position of goalkeeper.

Club career

His parents left in the 80s, the civil war risk Kosovo, and so Samir grew up in Belgium. He first played in the lower teams of RSC Anderlecht and was even with the U19 Belgian champion. There he also discovered Scouts of Palermo, who committed him soon. In the Sicilians he has a five-year contract until 2012 Ujkani was the beginning of the 2008/09 season behind Marco Amelia and Alberto Fontana third-choice goalkeeper, but was after the demotion of Fontana second goalkeeper and came 26 April 2009 at a 0:3. - defeat against AC Milan Substitutes by his Serie A debut. National

He received an invitation from both the U - 21 selection of Belgium, as well as the Albanian and opted for Albania. His first under-21 international game he played against Italy, which ended with a 4-0 defeat. Ujkani, which is considered as a great goalkeeper talent in Albania, was appointed to the World Cup qualifier against Hungary on 11 October 2008, the first in the senior national team of Albania. His international debut came Ujkani on 10 June 2009 in a friendly against Georgia, in the following months he was in qualifying for the 2010 World Cup in the games against Denmark (1-1) and Sweden ( 1:4) in goal. After he had lost his place to Etrit Berisha, he decided to continue to play for the football team of Kosovo.
