Stefano Sorrentino
Stefano Sorrentino ( born March 28, 1979 in Cava de ' Tirreni (SA), Italy) is an Italian football player.
Playing career
The beginnings
Stefano Sorrentino started his career as a professional footballer in 1996 with 18 years at Lazio. There he was, however, just as in the following season at Juventus to use - after all, he won the Italian championship with Juventus. For this reason, went Sorrentino 1998 Juve's city rivals Torino Calcio. There, too, the situation for the young keeper was not noticeably better. Although he was able to celebrate his Serie A debut in the 1998/99 season, but this was his only use in the current season.
Torino
Since it does not really went for Sorrentino in the Premier League ahead, the decision was made to a lending transaction. However, Sorrentino had again a personally disastrous season for him to go. AEK Athens
As Torino Calcio was dissolved in 2005 and all players' contracts had to be terminated, Sorrentino left the club in the direction of Greece. There, the Italians signed a four -year contract with AEK Athens. There he was able to develop athletic again and play in the Champions League. Then his wife no longer felt comfortable in a foreign country, asked Sorrentino at the club if he could go back to Italy. Since adequate offers forthcoming, Sorrentino had to stay at AEK, but promised to continue to give 100% for the club, which was credited to him by the Greek fans high.
The last years
After two years as a goalkeeper for AEK Athens, he moved in the summer of 2007 but then continued. One reason was the commitment of the Austrian National goalkeeper Jurgen Macho. Meanwhile Sorrentino is on loan for the season 2007/ 08 on the Spanish side Recreativo Huelva, where he also held a regular place and all season games played. After the season, he still had to go back and was awarded for the 2008/09 season in the Italian top-flight climbers AC Chievo Verona on.
Chievo Verona
When the Venetiener has bought the goalie, Sorrentino was first eligible to play on loan, received a new three-year contract. After a successful season, he was prevailed against Lorenzo Squizzi the goalkeeper and won the audience favorite. Between 2009 /10 and 2011/12 respectively, he completed 37 games in goal. After 20 games in the 2012/13 season he left the club in the winter and moved to league rival Palermo.
