San Miguel Brewery

San Miguel is a Spanish brewery headquartered in Lleida (Catalonia ), which belongs to the Spanish group Mahou San Miguel.

History

The parent company of the current brewery was founded in 1890 as a brewery San Miguel Corporation in the Philippine capital of Manila in the district of San Miguel and named after this.

In 1946, Enrique Suárez Rezola in Lleida, the Spanish company La Segarra SA, a subsidiary which specialized in the production of malt. In 1953, the economic independence of the company La Segarre was signed by the parent company San Miguel Corporation in Manila.

From 1957, under the company name La Segarra SA brewed a purely Spanish beer in Lleida; took place in 1957, the renamed San Miguel de Cerveza y Malta Fábricas, SA and as first independent beer brand San Miguel Especial was introduced to the Spanish market. In 1966, with the opening of a second brewery in Málaga and from 1970 a third brewery in Burgos a significant expansion of our market position.

In November 2000, merged San Miguel and the other Spanish for large brewery Mahou Mahou San Miguel Group of Companies. San Miguel is now exported to more than 35 countries, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
