The Sandy Creek ( also known as Big Sandy Creek or Buffalo Creek ) is a 35 km long river in Jackson County in the U.S. state of West Virginia. It is formed by merging of Right Fork Sandy Creek and Left Fork Sandy Creek 800 meters south of Sandyville. It flows from here mostly in northwestern direction.

In about half of its course the river to Green Hills Country Club crosses. After he passes under Interstate 77, he winds up in a big curve to the left in a wooded area south of Ravenswood before it opens there in the Ohio River.

The Sandy Creek runs mostly along the former Baltimore and Ohio Railroad track.
