Sankt Marein in Muerztal is a market town with 2508 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the judicial district of Bruck an der Mur and in the political district of Bruck - Miirzzuschlag in Styria. From 1 January 2015 it has joined forces framework of the Styrian municipality structural reform with the community Fraunberg, the new community will continue to use the name " Sankt Marein in Muerztal ".

Geography

Sankt Marein in Muerztal located northeast of Kapfenberg at the Murz.

The town of Sankt Marein in Muerztal consists of the following cadastral (area 2001): Graschnitz ( 71.70 ha), Sonnleiten ( 578.35 ha) and St.Marein in Muerztal ( 237,38 ha).

The municipality comprises the following four localities ( in parentheses population as of 31 October 2011):
