Sant'Antonio dei Portoghesi

Sant'Antonio dei Portoghesi in Rome more often Sant'Antonio in Campo Marzio (Latin: Sancti Antonii in Campo Martio ) is a church in Rome. She is the National Church of the Portuguese and was built in the 17th century. She is known mainly for its facade design.

Location

The church is located in the Rione Campo Marzio IV Rome about 250 meters northeast of Piazza Navona.

History

The building was built as a church originally located here Hospitals for Portuguese pilgrims. It is a foundation of Braganza. The interior was designed by Gaspare Guerra 1629-1636. Transept and choir are working Carlo Rainaldi and were completed by 1676. The façade was built by Martino Longhi the Younger in 1638.

Facade

Interior

Chapel of St. John, in Lisbon
