Geography

The County is located in southern Arizona, on the south by Mexico, on the north by the Pima County and on the east by the Cochise County. It has an area of ​​3205 square miles and a water area of ​​one square kilometer.

History

The Santa Cruz County was formed on March 15, 1899 from parts of Pima County. It was named after the Santa Cruz River, which was named in the late 17th century by the missionary Eusebio Francisco Kino so.
