Sarke

Sarke is a Norwegian rock and metal band from Oslo, founded in 2008. Founder Thomas " Sarke " Berglie is also active among others still at Khold and Tulu.

History

The idea to finally write an album, Thomas " Sarke " Bergli employed since the year 2003. Finally in 2008 he began the writing process, and finished it in September of the same year. In November, he then went to the producer Lars -Erik Westby in the studio of H10 Productions. For the keyboard recordings was added Anders Hunstad (El Caco ), which he already knew through his work at Tulu and Sensa Anima. For the singing Bergli Ted " Nocturno Culto " Skjellum asked by Darkthrone, who refused the offer at first, but after listening to some songs but then appealed. The song was then taken within five hours in the studio. Bergli himself played a the drums, the guitars and the bass. The album Vorunah appeared in April 2009 Indie Recordings.

Arrived for an appearance on the Inferno Metal Festival in Oslo, Norway in April 2009 Asgeir Mickelson ( Spiral Architect, ex - Borknagar ) on drums and Terje " Cyrus " Andersen as a guitarist to fill. 2009 was followed by other appearances in Trondheim in April along with Keep of Kalessin, in July at the Wacken Open Air in August at the Hole in the Sky. The appearance at the Wacken Open Air Thomas Gabriel Fischer also was present as a guest musician with whom they played the song Dethroned Emperor by Celtic Frost. In 2010, the writing of new songs, the songs Condemned and Captured were performed live began. For the Roadburn Festival in April came Steinar Gundersen ( Satyricon, Spiral Architect ) as a guitarist for the band, as Andersen already played as a bassist with Dimmu Borgir in Australia. The tour, however, had to be canceled, which Andersen was unemployed. The festival was Skjellum to hear in return for Wacken appearance, in Fischer's band Triptykon at the song Dethroned Emperor as a guest musician. Then Steinar Gundersen came as second guitarist to the band, the band was first seen at the German Ragnarök Festival in the new cast. In October 2010 the band went again with Lars -Erik Westby in the studio of H10 Productions to record the next album. The songs were written this time by Bergli, Skjellum, Andersen and Mickelson. The album was released in Europe in April 2011 under the name Oldarhian. In August 2013, the song Walls of Ru was made available via streaming. The band was now includes bassist Bergli, drummer Mickelson, guitarist Gundersen, the singer and keyboardist Skjellum Hunstad. In September, the entire album was released under the name Aruagint streamed as well as a sound carrier at Indie Recordings. The album was re-recorded with Lars -Erik Westby in the studio of H10 Productions.

Style

According to Metal Hammer remember the song Primitive Killing of Vorunah to Celtic Frost, while the song The Drunken Priest sounded like Darkthrone. The song Frost Junkie is epic and hypnotic, while Old -containing rock influences. Cult Ritual sound like a cross between Black Sabbath and Bathory, was reduced to 13 Candles heavy guitar sounds and a piano. On the album, the band sounded, according to Robert Mueller by Metal Hammer as a doom metal version of Dark Throne, where the vocals on a permanent sounding too monotonous. The organ in Old would remember Candlemass. According to Detlef Dengler from Metal Hammer to move the tape to Oldarhian between Black Sabbath and Celtic Frost, the song was still too monotonous. According to El Greco of stormbringer.at the band played on Aruagint a mixture of Black and Thrash Metal, with rock songs like Ugly would remember Motörhead. The song Jodau aura also contains elements from the Doom Metal while the singing was strong Black Metal -heavy. The song also contained Icon Usurper doom metal elements.
