Sasha Pokulok

Sasha Pokulok ( born May 25, 1986 in Vaud - Dorion, Quebec ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since July 2012 at the Cornwall River Kings in the Ligue Nord - Americaine de Hockey under contract.

Career

Sasha Pokulok began his career as a hockey player with the Notre Dame Hounds, for which he was active in the 2003/04 season in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. He then attended two years, the Cornell University and played for their hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Together with his team he won the 2005 championship of the ECAC Hockey. From 2006 to 2009, the defender played in parallel for the Hershey Bears in the American Hockey League and the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL, where he was with the Stingrays Kelly Cup Winner 2009. Both teams were the farm team of the Washington Capitals, who had selected him in the NHL Entry Draft in 2005 in the first round than a total of 14 players. However, for the Capitals even he was no use.

The 2009/10 season spent Pokulok outweigh the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL. With these he was able to convince and in 2010 was re-nominated for the exchanged to Norway Robbie Bina on the part of the National Conference for the ECHL All-Star Game for the starting six. He also ran 15 times together for the Springfield Falcons and San Antonio Rampage in the AHL. For the following season the Canadians was committed by the DEG Metro Stars of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. After one season, he moved to Austria, where he played with the KHL Medveščak Zagreb in the Erste Bank Hockey League. In July 2012, Pokulok returned to his Canadian homeland, where he joined the Cornwall River Kings in the Ligue Nord - Americaine de Hockey.

Internationally

For Canada Pokulok took part in the U20 World Youth Championship in 2006. For this he won the gold medal with his team. He himself remained point and impunity in six games.
